Brandon looks so happy and determined.
I am so proud of him.

7 Continents

Speaking of School in the Hills, Nicky's teacher sent me this email.

Luke, my Monkey, Starts School

Annnnnnd now there are three in school.
On January 6th, 2013 the last one of the Abeling boys started school
I loved this pic of Nicky holding his brothers hands before school.

This is Luke outside by the front sign and in his new classroom.
20 months old and had no clue I was about to leave him all day long.

The drop off was perfect.
He was all smiles and happy
His Teacher Miss Tiffany sent us pictures on his first day and he even sat on the potty for them
I am so proud of him and know he will do so well in school.
He is a Monkey and will stay in that class room until about 3 years old or potty trained.
Once he is potty trained and talking better he will move up
Until then we are so proud of you Lukey!! xoxoxox

Adventures in Grassvalley

Back in January I decided it was time to go visit my dad. He lives in Grass Valley with my step mom Ellen. They have a ranch with a pond and a cute little house that over looks the valley. I miss the horses and the dogs, and I know they do too. They have been wanting to get a dog for some time and we hoped they would be in North Carolina by now.
For now, they are staying put, and Luke had never met them, so I decided he is coming with me.
On a Friday in January I packed him up and headed to the airport.
Its hard to fly into Sacramento. there are no direct flights from Austin, so we had a layover. And then there is a hour and a half or so car ride to Grass Vallley from Sac.
We had a great start on Friday morning, he was happy and ready to go. Very happy...until the plane took off. Literally for the next 6 hours he did not stop crying - that meant when we landed in Phoenix, took off for Sacramento, got our luggage, picked up our luggage and the hour and a half drive to Grass Valley from Sacramento. My poor Dad ad Ellen. What a first impression Luke. And he is my SWEET baby!!!

Then he also proceeded to cry from the time we go to their house, through lunch, and finally fell asleep.

Phew, and it was only 3:00 on Friday.

The next Day we explored the property. LUKE LOVES his bathrobe and wore it all morning. We saw pretty plants with frost. I was trying to be artsy and taking pictures of the dew drops.
Pap Vic and Luke shared some grapes and watched Football.
the niners were headed to the layoffs!

Luke hung out at the barn. Ellen used to have 2 horses names Zeek and Vicky. I used to ride Zeek when I was little. Ellen taught me how to ride when I was 12 or 13. I had a passion for horses and riding. I rode in college for a while and after I graduated, but was never able to have my own horse. BUT! One day I will have my own horse and teach the boys to ride too.

The weekend was  sadly short and came to an end quickly.
I miss hanging out with my Dad and Ellen and seeing them on a regular basis.
Luke loved Papa Vic and Grandma Ellen and I am glad he spent quality time with them.

Saying Goodbye is never fun. I made them promise to come see us soon because Brandon and Nicky were so sad they could not come too.

I PRAYED the flight home would be better. It wasn't  It was MISERY. He again screamed for HOURS. I walked him, I bounced him, I fed him, I pinched him, I sang to him, I gave him away. Nothing worked. Finally, FINALLY right as we were landing, he fell asleep in my arms. It was a nice 20 minutes. The man sitting next to me patted my arm and said, "You are a good mom". I didn't feel like it.

It was a great trip, but I was happy to be home. Luke is NEVER traveling again...at least until July.

2013 - let's do this!

So I'm behind and many of these posts will be out of order. So lets quickly recap....

Nick is 4 and a half, attending School in the hills Montessori, loves snakes and planets. Loves power rangers, Ninjago, his scooter, swords, and gum. Nicky also has amazing Dance moves and loves his teacher Miss Kelly at school. He is bright, smart, learning to read and do math. He is getting ready to start Kindergarten in the fall. Nicky is in a 5t and a size 13/1 shoe. He is so tall and mature! He amazes us daily.

Brandon is 3 and a half also attending SITH with his brothers. He loves rescue bots, ninjas, swords, spaceships, his scooter, and candy. He attends speech therapy an occupational therapy 2 times a week and calls it "puppy school". There are 5 King Charles cavalier puppies there, hence the nickname. His teacher is Miss Donna and Tiffy drives him for me on the days he attends class. He is making new friends and we love watching him grow. Brandon is in a 2t-3t and size 11 shoe. Watching him blossom this year has been incredible.

Luke is 18 months (in Jan) saying about 20 words and will be starting SITH this month. I can't believe i will have 3 boys in Daycare. Miss Tiffy is going to come and help me in the morning and spend 3 hours a day to help me get boys to school and dressed on time. Luke will be in the monkey classroom and his Teacher will also be Miss Tiffany. We have been trying to get Luke to say tiff for months now. Hopefully soon. Luke is wearing a 2t and size 8-8.5 shoe. This kid doesn't stop eating and is blowing past his brothers in comparison! I love him.

I'm loving my new job and Dan is exploring ways to make "passive" income. Here is to an awesome 2013!

Lovefest

I found the boys sitting like this this morning. My heart melted.

The last couple of week has been a big change for Luke - he's talking more, saying well over 30 words now, even if its not that clear. He knows everything we are talking about and knows exactly what he wants. I also think that helps Nick relate with Luke more. They are playing together, chasing each other, sharing toys, snacks, and drinks. Nick looks out for him and takes him for rides on the 4wheeler. He holds his hand and kisses him constantly. I love watching them get closer and closer...

Last night Nicky ask me if he could read Luke a book before bed. So sweet. He walked Luke up to bed and they say on his chair ready for story time.

Luke's favorite book right now is Pajama Time. Nicky ended up reading 3 books to him. The three year gap between them doesn't seem so vast now that Luke is communicating. I enjoy watching this knowing how special their relationship will be as they get older.
Biggest and Littlest.

Humbled

Tuesday, March 12, 2013
My mom posted this on FB today and I got pretty emotional. I can be a complete bitch so knowing my mom loves me unconditionally is overwhelming and humbling. To have such a wonderful woman look out for you makes life so much easier - and believe me I wouldn't be where I am today without her. She also taught me to love like she does and I am grateful and thankful always and Forever. I love you mom! Xoxox

After 2 years I decided that I can probably be friends with my nanny on FaceBook and Instagram
I checked out Tiffy's IG and this is what I saw...
I know she loves my boys as they were her own
As a mom, knowing that someone can love them, protect them, and cherish them like you do
means more to me than anything in this world
Tiff is part of our family and we are so happy to have found her.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Wednesday, November 24, 2010
It's no secret that I adore Christmas. One of my guilty pleasures in life is taking pictures and creating the perfect Christmas card.  This year we made a last minute decision and took some recent pictures of the boys for our card. I will post 2010 card closer to Christmas, after I send them out. Here is a look back at 2 years of Christmas cards....
