Secrets of Abelingland - MY WORLD

Friday, December 13, 2013
Usually when people find out I have three boys they say 2 things

1. I don't know how you do it
2. followed by - Ages and Boys or Girls?

When I tell them that I have three boys ages 5, 4, and 2and a half, they look at me and say 2 things

1. I don't know how you do it
2. Did you try for a girl?

Those of you who know me, you know how badly I wanted a girl. And if you didn't know that. I DID. Badly.

I respond saying, I tried every time. I probably cried at every ultrasound too. I just really really REALLY really wanted a girl. I joke that Dan can't make girls. I think it is true. I think it is pay back...or maybe God knows what he is doing...because I have three B O Y S....and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

It made me feel better

My Three Amigos, Ole!

Thursday, December 30, 2010
Back in September I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd baby. Everyone either said we were nuts or crazy. We are both. But as I mentioned in an earlier post, my Mother will be out here in 7 days and my life will never be the same. Thanks for all the babysitting in advance Grandma and Grandpa!! Ha!

In November, during my 12 week sonogram, I got a 75% chance it was a girl. They *usually* never tell you what they think at 12 weeks, so I should have known better. When Nicky was 12 weeks, they told me there was "nothing down there" and I can tell you A LOT grows between 12 weeks and 20 weeks.

At the 17 week appointment, Dr. Phillips did a quick gender check so we could find out before Christmas. Even 17 weeks it was still a bit early, but he was pretty confident that what we saw between the legs doesn't belong on a girl. So, as I suspected, it looks like we are having 3 boys!

My Three Amigos

On January 12, we go back for the 20 week anatomy sonogram, and a tiny percent of me is hoping the Dr was wrong, and "it" was a swollen girl part, or a cord, or some weird grey matter. If it's not, then I will return all the little girl clothes that I could not help but buy already ;)

 Here is a little bit about my pregnancy this time around {sans any fat stay-puff marshmallow pictures of me}

How Far Along: 19 weeks
Size of Baby: 6 inches long, the size of a large tomato
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 6lbs so far (Nicky I gained ~32, Brandon ~20 I think. I will have to go back and check for sure)
Maternity Clothes: yes since 11 weeks actually! Thank you Kathleen for sending me BACK my clothes. I will send them back to you when you have #2!! ;)

P.S. - Elastic waist bands are AH-Mazing.

Movement: some slight movement, but nothing prominent yet.
Symptoms: dizziness, weakness, headaches. Sciatic pain. Wide hips and my ass is as big as belly. it's pretty awesome sight
What I Miss: beer, sushi, sleeping on my back
Girl or Boy: 99% it's a BOY
Belly button In or Out: almost out, no line yet
Cravings: peaches and canned peaches, red gatorade
Best Moment This Week: knowing that I am almost 20 weeks! and this is the LAST time.

One of my favorite things to do is to compare the boys at different ages. I've posted pictures at almost every milestone, even dressing them in the matching outfits or recreating some of my favorite pictures.

Yesterday I posted a picture of both of them at a Y E A R old.

They are so different: Nicky had a tan, inherited my nice Italian skin, Brandon has Dan's light Russian skin. Nicky has a round face, B an oval one; different eye color, hair color, personalities, vocabulary, behavior, maturity level, weights, heights, and shoes sizes.....and on and on.

So today's comparison is from when they were teeny tiny inside me!

These are 2 of the MOST important pictures I ever saw.

And if you know me, no 2 pictures have made me CRY more. And if you know me, how like their M O T H E R are they in these shots! (hahah)

Never have I wanted and LOVED having two boys than I have today.

It All Begins with Once Upon a Time...

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

While looking for art work and decorations for Nicholas and Brandon's playroom, I came across this enchanting etsy site called Trafalgar's Square featured on Birthday Girl's blogsite.

I went crazy for her original artwork and silently prayed for a movie or book to be written using these characters immediatley.I must own some today.

Just as quick, I instantly imagined having more babies (a girl, please) and decorating her nursery based on the delightful drawings. Now we have to convince Kit that a story begins with Once Upon a Time...

If I had a girl...

Monday, February 22, 2010
I love my boys. I do. I adore them. They are my whole world and they make every second worth every minute. Nickys silly laugh. Brandons smiling face. I. love. them. They are all mine, and no MOM you can't have them.
But I want a girl. I want a girl soooooooo bad. To curl her hair. To hold my hand. To take to ballet class. To pick out prom dresses. To plan her wedding.
I mean, help plan, er pay for the wedding. whatever. I also want to dress her in all the completely adorable girly things I see every day.

If I had a girl....
and because Mommy needs something adorably cute too...
