A Culinary Pinterest Christmas!

Friday, December 30, 2011
About 6 months ago i joined Pinterest
and my life changed forever
Instantly I was a better wife, better cook, better designer, and really good at wasting time
I found hundreds of things I HAD to have, including new sewing projects (i don't sew) and thousands of ideas to redecorate my home, art projects for the boys, and endless ideas on how to braid my hair.

This Christmas we hosted Dan's family, and I was determined to make some new recipes

On Christmas morning I made this.
one word:
INCREDIBLE
my new go to breakfast dish
Just need whip cream next time
.and then I made some new Christmas cookies
only I substiututed cherries for cranberries
one word
INCREDIBLE
and then for dinner I wanted to make something new
Typically we have crab or lobster
but I wanted to go meat
So i found this recipe on Pinterest
I substituted Tyme for rosemary and bought 8 lbs of
very nice Beef tenderloin
One word
INCREDIBLE
we also had white truffled portabllo mushrooms
and arugula pecorino asparagus
It was an incredible {did I mention that?} meal
one that we will put in the books and become my new Christmas meal
Merry Pinterest Everyone!
And Pinny New Year!

Since discovering Pinterest, I have this ideal that I have become a better chef and baker. Debatable. I've made a handful of things, and some have been incredible. LOVE YOU QUINOA!

Since I am in Phoenix, I was not able to participate in this week's linky Pintertest Kitchen. But this i what I am going to tackle next! Yum Yum

PinterTest Kitchen: Dump Cake

Thursday, October 6, 2011
Here we go. A linky party!
About Baking
Which is sad because I don't bake
but I want to
so thats why I am Linking and Pinning
Soooooooooo
I blame my friend Lauren for introducing me
I've made it 8 times in 2 months
It's called a Dump Cake
because you dump everything in.
DUH.
...and I think it will save marriages
and it is why I have not lost the baby weight

You need 3 ingredients
I package white {or yellow} cake mix
2 cans of pie filling
2 sticks of butter
375 for 45 minutes
Easy Peasy

Turn Oven to 375

I like to use two cans of Cherry Pie filling and half a can of crushed pineapple (drain juice first)

Dump and stir together

Dump in white cake mix

Cut up 2 sticks of butter

cover cake with a butter sweater like this
So this is not a LOW FAT food, btw

Pop in oven for 45 minutes until crusty and goldeny brown

Eat hot or cold
with Whip Cream or Ice cream
Just don't eat the whole pan

Thank You Jess.
This was fun.
Join me next week as I tackle the Monte Cristo!
